Wrigley Field canvas print #4: A young Bill Veeck Jr. (in the dark suit), a true baseball visionary, oversees construction of Wrigley Field's concrete bleachers and fanciful, hand-operated centerfield scoreboard, which opened September 4, 1937. Note the rooftop ad for the (John E.) Ricketts Restaurant and Bar, which stood for decades at 2727 North Clark Street. It was one of several Chicago area restaurants owned by a family not related to the present-day team owners.
